RUNDMO
RUNDMO is a jazz trio of close friends who have been playing together since their teenage years. They embody a well-known, yet cherished, symbiosis that extends both musically and personally. Since the band’s inception in 2019, they have released their debut album named in 2020 titled “Jazz på Dass” and performed over 20 concerts in Norway, including prominent Norwegian jazz festivals. Their second album “Jazz på Madrass” recorded in June 2023 at Dokkhuset Scene, features 10 tracks composed by the trio, emphasizing the magic found within the bedroom, focusing both the dreams and the nightmare.

JAZZ PÅ MADRASS
Jazz på Madrass is rundmo’s second album. Released in 2024. The variation in the songs reflect the trio’s desire to capture the diverse dreams, objects and emotions that can be found within the bedroom. RUNDMO creates music with nods to Irish folk music and Nordic jazz. Through youthful playfulness and curiosity, they explore with lyrical melodies and rhythmic figures to shape their musical identity. Drawing inspiration from various piano-trios, what sets RUNDMO apart is the substitution of the double bass with a tuba, giving their sound a refreshing twist. Some songs also feature an extended lineup, including flugabone, vocals and strings. One of these tracks, “Fem timer søvn” (Five hour sleep), delves into the feeling of the alarm clock pulling you into reality, where sleep deprivation and fatigue set in.
“Sleep is something that concerns everyone; it is both universal and deeply personal. The world one enters when sleeping is entirely unique, and on this record, we have created music that we believe reflects and depicts this realm”.
- Vemund Strypet
